Of course, prevention and hygiene is more than just brushing and flossing. At PDGO, we take every precaution and work tirelessly to ensure your children are getting the care that they need BEFORE decay has a say in the matter. Here’s a glance at the services we provide along those lines:
- Cleanings: Our hygienists and coronal polishers are the best! They love to serve our patients by cleaning every tooth thoroughly and doing it in a way that is minimally invasive to the child.
- X-Rays: Those impossible to see areas in between the teeth can become problematic if not closely monitored. Our dental assistants are gentle, but meticulous in helping our patients hold still and be at ease with such an unfamiliar process, so that we get great x-rays and can detect problem areas early.
- Fluoride Treatments: Fluoride treatments are a great way to remineralize the teeth and strengthen enamel. Our doctors strongly recommend these “teeth vitamins” as they can decrease the risk for tooth decay by as much as 70%.
- Sealants: Sealants are a great way to protect the pits on the surfaces of back molars. These cavity-prone areas are like food traps and are often where decay begins. Our hygiene team can set your children up for dental success by applying sealants at their check-up, which is as easy as “painting it on with a small brush.”
