GIVE - GROW - SMILE
At PDGO, making a difference in the lives of our patients and their families is important to us. We love impacting those who come through our doors. We believe it is our mission to do good and to serve those both near and far. This means caring for those in our office, in our community, and sometimes around the world. God has entrusted us with gifts and we pledge to use them to enhance the smiles and souls of others.
Serving Inside Our PDGO Offices
What a privilege it is to be able to serve our patients in our offices and
help them achieve a healthy confident smile, while having a happy, fun experience!
Serving In Our Community:
There are several organizations that we have partnered with in the past to help bring hope and health to the people in our community.
Coat Drive
PDGO has partnered with Neighborhood Christian Center in Memphis to help kids stay warm during the winter. We encourage all of our patients to bring in new coats to help those in need. We are collecting during the months of December and January. Helping others is very rewarding!
Children’s Museum of Memphis
PDGO is so happy to have had the opportunity in 2019 to partner with the Alliance to the Memphis Dental Society and Delta Dental to completely renovate the Smile, Inc. dental exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Memphis. The interactive exhibit helps children learn about dental health as well as be able to role play and discover that going to the dentist can be fun.
Church Health Center
Dr. Taylor Collazo and his wife Maeve, who is a dental hygienist, volunteer their time and expertise at the Church Health Center located in Crosstown Concourse in Memphis. The Church Health Center is a charitably-funded clinic provides high-quality, affordable healthcare to working uninsured people and their families, while giving people proper tools for living a healthier life.
Mission of Mercy
Our doctors and team members love volunteering for this great cause in Memphis. The Mid-South Mission of Mercy (MidMOM) is a free, two-day dental clinic sponsored by the Memphis Dental Society for under-served people living in Memphis and the surrounding Mid-South area. All services are provided free of charge by licensed dentists, hygienists, and assistants from Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas.
Forrest Spence Fund
We have been blessed to be able to partner with the Forrest Spence Fund, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist with the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South. In the past, we have sponsored the Kid Zone for the Forrest Spence 5K. Our office also likes to volunteer for their Family Dinner night at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
Serving In Other Areas of the World
PDGO has a heart to serve people all over the world and help with their dental needs. In years past, we have been to Ukraine, Belize, Costa Rica, Philippines, Ethiopia, and most recently El Salvador.
Missions in El Salvador
Dr. Taylor Collazo spent time recently on a combined medical and dental mission trip in El Salvador! The trip was with CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association) of which he is involved and speaks for at the University of Tennessee Dental School. He was the lead dental director of the trip and brought four dental students with him who he was able to mentor and teach while there. They worked 5 days in a make-shift clinic and provided treatment to hundreds of dental patients in need! And more importantly they were able to share the love of Jesus with them, and several accepted Christ into their life!
