October is National Orthodontic Health Month. Most kids are thinking of Halloween and jack-o-lanterns with pointy teeth, but PDGO is celebrating beautiful smiles along with helping you learn the benefits of orthodontic treatment.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. This allows our orthodontists to determine if there are any significant problems that need to be treated. Early detection and treatment will enhance your child’s ability to have a much better chance for natural and normal smile development. The goal is to work with natural growth instead of against it.
Braces are needed for several reasons:
- Crooked teeth
- Overlapping
- Overcrowded teeth
- Bad bite (malocclusion): overbite or underbite
So, in honor of National Orthodontic Health Month, make your child (ages 7 and up) an
appointment to see one of our fabulous orthodontists and make sure they are on track for a
great, healthy smile. While many children don’t need braces right away, this visit will give you
assurance that your child is being monitored and will receive the best dental care for their
needs. Our doctors will recommend when it is time to start treatment.
